FAQ
What's your ethnicity?
I am VERY mixed. From my father's side, I am Black and Native American. From my mother's side, I am Mexican, Native American, Spanish, Italian, and Jewish. Somewhere between the two, I am also Chinese. So to keep things short and sweet, I just state that I am AfroLatina or Black and Mexican.
What is your hair type?
I have medium 3B low porosity wavy/curly hair.
How do you get started on YouTube?
Consistency is KEY! You don't need a fancy new camera, expensive filming setup, or the newest video editing software to get started. All you need is a plan, first and foremost, any device that can video record (*coughs* your phone), and the standard video editing software that your computer or even your phone comes with. Pick a niche, create a brand kit (color palette, logo/profile pic, channel banner, theme), plan your first few videos, and UPLOAD! Starting really is that simple, you just have to let yourself. How do you get started in Modeling?
I started my professional modeling career in high school, taking classes at a local agency. Don't do that. I repeat: DON'T TAKE CLASSES. Every photoshoot you go on will be different so the skills that you will need will be taught per gig. Take a few digitals of yourself with solid, fitted clothing with NO makeup from all angles, create a comp card with your information and measurements, and start submitting to agencies or casting calls. Practice , practice, practice your poses and finding your angles every single day and upkeep with your look. You never know who's watching.
How do you get started in Acting?
Like modeling, I started my professional acting career in high school but was always involved in local and school theater productions before then. For acting, you DO want to take classes, as this isn't a learn-at-home kind of skill. Search for classes at your local school, community college, or acting classes and enroll. When you're ready to take on gigs, sign up for casting call websites and apply for auditions. You will need an acting resume, commercial and theatrical headshots, and a reel of your work. If you need experience to add to your resume, apply for short films, background gigs, and live shows.
